Sometimes, Inventor does not automatically update a file especially when the trigger (in your case, a modification to an external parameter) is external to the file. Rather, Inventor would indicate on the Quick Access Toolbar that "Local or Global Update" are available. By not forcing the file to refresh and update, you can continue working with the current state until you really need the update to reflect on the file. Then, you click Update on the Quick Access Toolbar.

*Note: The Quick Access Toolbar is the topmost toolbar on top of the User Interface, usually above the Panels.

Let me know if this answered your question. But when I modify the parameter in the part it doesn't update autmatically in the assembly (even though it is marked as update automatically in the parameters of the assembly.) I have to manually, right click on the linked parameter > edit folder > remove it and it again for it to update. Any idea what I might be doing wrong.?
Thanks! I am trying to make a torsional spring (made with a spiral coil) adaptive. coils are not adaptive, however if I can update the pitch to be :
pitch = (spring Diameter / revolutions) and Revolutions = (no of active coils)+(angle/360)
Angle = angle of a drive constraint
all from within the assembly and make the coil sketch adaptive so the coil profile can turn, I think it should work. Any idea how to do that??
Thanks alotAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
